Animal Rehabilitation
We have over the years at the lodge rescued many orphaned animals from the bushmeat trade. Pangolins of two species are our most succesful, simply because these animals are often kept alive after being caught and live adults rehabilitate easily, these are normally released on the same day in a secure location. Add to the over 70 pangolins we have saved, we have also hand reared several interesting smaller mammals including a number of Blue duikers, Brush-tailed porcupine, Servaline and Large spotted genets, a Long snouted Cusimanse and an African Civet
Sangha Pangolin project
More recently we have focused particularly on pangolins and in 2018 we began a dedicated reserach and conservation project, the Sangha Pangolin project to help and learn more about these rare and little understood animals
